A HUPO2011 Satellite Workshop hosted by the Swiss Institute for Bioinformatics @ The University of Geneva

The Seattle Proteome Center (SPC) at the Institute for Systems Biology and the Swiss Institute for Bioinformatics (SIB) are pleased to offer a five-day intensive course in proteomic informatics. This course will be held one week prior to HUPO 2011 (Aug 29-Sep 2) at the University of Geneva and will focus on the use of powerful open-source software tools for the analysis, validation, storage and interpretation of data obtained from large-scale quantitative proteomics experiments and methods, and quantitative tandem mass spectrometry. Through daily lectures and hands-on tutorials, course participants will become proficient in the use of these tools, including the highly regarded statistical validation tools PeptideProphet, ProteinProphet, and other components of the Trans-Proteomic Pipeline (TPP). More information on the TPP, including software downloads can be found at the SPC website. There will also be instruction on using SPC resources such as PeptideAtlas, SRMAtlas, and related tools and other related software packages. Lectures and tutorials will also include the use of SystemsX resources, unique Swiss based tools and infrastructure, including openBIS - Proteomics, the SyBIT portal, and the QuickMod platform. The eBiomics learning platform will serve as support.
