CONFERENCE POSTERS

SPC research is well represented at major scientifc conferences. We would like to acknowledge both HUPO and ASMS, who graciously provided booths at which Center researchers had demos and CDs of the TPP tools available. See our most recent conference posters.

PROTEOMICS INFORMATICS COURSE AT ISB

The Seattle Proteome Center is pleased to offer a comprehensive, 5-day course in the use of a suite of software tools designed for the analysis, validation, storage and interpretation of data obtained from large-scale quantitative proteomics experiments using the ICAT reagent labeling method, multi-dimensional chromatography and tandem mass spectrometry.

THANKS, THERMOFINNIGAN!

The Seattle Proteome Center would like to thank ThermoFinnigan for their generous gift of 20 copies of Bioworks 3.1 for use in the Proteomics Informatics Course given at ISB. This software will allow ISB instructors to teach external researchers the principals behind the suite of software tools developed at ISB through hands-on usage in the computational environment that they use in their own labs. Among other tools, Bioworks 3.1 includes the TurboSEQUEST tandem mass spectrum search engine. The course will teach the mechanics of generating peptide identifications from TurboSEQUEST as the starting point in a computational pipeline of tools that includes validation, quantitation, and visualization of proteomics data. The Bioworks software was implemented for the first time in the January 2004 session.
